I had a very pleasant surprise today!  I was told by my principal today that the proof of my good teaching is when I am not there!  She was telling me how well my students sang at an event of Friday that I was not able to attend and so another teacher had to step in for me and direct my choir.  I was very nervous about it, I had to make a CD of me singing and playing the guitar so she could use it to direct my choir and band!  My principal said that I had the kids so well trained that they were able to pull it off without any problems!  I was so relieved!  She reminded me that this is what we are doing here as teachers.  Teaching and then letting go, that is when we find out if we were successful or not.  What do our students take away with them?  Did they truly learn what we were trying to teach?  I am very thankful that I had this opportunity to find out!  How cool is that!?!
